| Douglas, a very, very
large brown bear, is a Cuddle Toy Classic, crafted with pride by the Douglas Co. of Keene,
NH. His lucky number is 2490. He once lived in the family room near the wood
pellet stove. In the new Bear Hollow, he sits with his favorite bear near an extra
large window. He likes to spot rabbits sneaking out of the woods for food. His
hobby is a collection of Teddy Bear pins. Doug's dream is
to drive a limo to the nearest restaurant. |
One past winter Dougbecame very lonely. One night he said to himself,"Gotta Get Gund," and now he has Honey
Bear for a friend. Honey is very proud of her
pedigree as a Collector's Classic Limited Edition with a lucky number of 2184. She
loves to research her forebears with Family
Tree Maker. Doug and Honey are very close
and cuddly. Douglas is a somber bear, often very deep in
thought, and not given to much laughter. However, he is talented at bear tricks, and
has been known to escape during the wee night hours to find Honey
and his favorite Klondike Ice Cream Bars.

This big bruin is
always unbelievably hungry, and often attempts to raid the cavernous SubZero
refrigerator. He likes feeling the deep cold inside on his nose. Cook Bear,
"stuffed with dreams," by The
Vermont Teddy Bear Company rules the kitchen, but sleeps
nights. He's busy all day making cookies, muffins, scones and other
goodies. He orders his supplies from the Baker's
Catalog. Doug
doesn't get caught when he looks for tasty treats like Bear
Thins, or low fat Cereal Bars from
Trader Joe's.
He gets his ideas from searching with Google. |
Doug is surrounded by books. His favorite, Life's Little Destruction Book, is a collection of 512 boorish, insensitive and socially obnoxious pointers for leading a simple, self-centered life. This parody by Charles Sherwood Dane is a Stonesong Press Book published by St. Martin's Press, New York 1992. Xcerpts: "#4 Hum along at the concert! #278 Greet each new day with a growl! #505 Jump to conclusions!" Honey says, "The problem is you never know if Doug is serious." |
